Allowing custom donation amounts

Image
Allowing custom donation amounts As requested by a number of Coinbase users , we just launched a new feature where people can set their own donation amounts. When you go create a payment button there is a new ‘advanced options’ section.   You can also suggest some amounts for the user when generating the button. And it will look like this: And of course, it works with other currencies, regular payment buttons (not just donations), hosted checkout pages, and more. You can try  creating one of these new donate buttons  here (signin required).  Hope it helps!

Buy, send, and accept bitcoin - all from one API.

Image
Buy, send, and accept bitcoin - all from one API. Our API got a face lift recently.  It now has: An  api key authentication method  which is much easier to get started with. (We still have OAuth2 as well for third party apps ). New api calls  around buying, selling, and accepting bitcoin payments. And a new  ruby gem  which makes it really easy to get started. We’d like to add more client libraries in the coming year (if by chance you are interested in helping out on one of these  send us a note .  We’d love to open source these.) Here are a few things you can do with the  ruby gem . Ready to get started with the API? Sign up for an account here  and  check out the docs . Happy coding!

You Can Now Buy Up To 100 BTC Per Day (with a verified account) Since we  launched bank integration  just a few short months ago the response has been amazing. It’s now easier than ever to buy or sell bitcoin - just by linking a U.S. bank account. Since then, the biggest request we’ve gotten has been “hey, this is great, but I need to buy more!”. Today that is possible: users with verified accounts can now purchase up to 100 BTC per day. What does ‘verifed’ mean? In this case it just means you’ve previously purchased bitcoin with us and have maintained an account in good standing for at least 30 days.  We also ask you to verify your email and turn on two-factor authentication to get a verified account. What about the sell side? We’ve increased limits on the sell side as well.  New accounts will have a sell limit of 100 BTC per day.  Verified accounts will have a sell limit of 300 BTC per day. What about other payment methods? This has ...

Hosted Payment Pages, Email Invoices, And More

Image
Hosted Payment Pages, Email Invoices, And More The response from our  payment buttons  announcement has been great, and we’ve been hard at work on adding more merchant tools. Hosted Payment Pages  are now available. Hosted payment pages work well in situations where embedding javascript is not an option (emails, twitter links, Craigslist posts, etc) and provides another way to accept bitcoin payments and donations on your site. Redirect urls  provide a convenient way to send users back to your site after they’ve completed payment. Email Invoices  are also now available on the merchant tools page. Payment Button  Improvements We’ve been listening to your feedback and have cleaned up a few items on payment buttons including: embedding the button on your site no longer conflicts with jQuery (or other javascript libraries) you can now use  custom javascript events  to show or hide the payment window ...
